Old Town Spice Shop, Fort Collins

In 1985 the Godbey family moved to Colorado. We fell in love with the mountains, plains and people of the Front Range. Schools, jobs, marriages and grandchildren eventually followed and we have now built a home in Fort Collins. Northern Colorado has always had many good restaurants but what was missing was a shop where people could buy fresh spices and blends tailored to the Colorado way of life. In the end of September of 2010 we decided to create a spice shop for Northern Colorado. We researched every spice shop we could find including making trips to spice shops around the country. We even looked into participating in several franchises but believed that to be able to partner with our community we needed to be more flexible than any of the franchises would allow us to be. We decided to build our own business that would better serve the people and lifestyle of the Fort Collins area. From conception to opening day only took 65 days. The Godbey family opened the Old Town Spice Shop on December 3rd, 2010. Fort Collins, Colorado. This adventure was only the beginning of an amazing partnership with food lovers from across Northern Colorado. The Old Town Spice Shop and the Godbey family want to invite everyone to taste the difference that fresh spices, blends, seasoning, teas and other products can make in your life.

Because this is our business we can ensure the highest quality spices, blends, salts, sugars, extracts, peppers and teas in the country. We fresh grind many of the spices ourselves, making them fresher than you can get at even many other spice shops. Our large variety of products allows us to serve everyone, from the person that says they can’t cook to gourmet chefs. Please take an opportunity to smell, taste, ask questions and have an adventure as you tour the finest spice shop in Northern Colorado!

  • My fiance and I were going through Old Town for a date night when we stumbled upon an add for the foodie walk! One of the shops advertised for the foodie walk was the Old Town Spice Shop and we had never been. We walked in excited, sniffing delicious spices and expecting an equally warm welcome, but our experience was immediately soiled by an employee named Leslie. Her snarky and rude attitude quickly destroyed the cute local shop. She was very short and Ill mannered with any question we had to ask. I will never return. We also asked other people partaking in the foodie walk if they had a similar experience and unfortunately a few had. What a shame. We will NEVER come back. The other spice shop named "Savory Spices" in Old Town was superb. I do not recommend the Old Town Spice Shop to anyone.
  • Absolutely blown away by the variety of typical spices offered. They also have an amazing selection of blended spices, extracts, and even mixed sugars! The employee working was very polite and knowledgeable in all spices. I love that all spices can also be ordered and shipped directly from there website.
