  • Lory State Park is just a few miles from old town Fort Collins but well worth a visit! The views from the trails are spectacular and feel like you are well away from civilization. Another big plus...  more »
  • This delightful little park is nestled just west of Fort Collins in the foothills. Outdoor recreation is very popular here with activities such as running, hiking, and mountain biking. Wildlife viewing is a top tier activity as well. Arthur's rock is a popular destination here with the summit hike being the most popular activity. A Colorado State Parks pass is required. You can purchase this at the visitor's center for one day or the entire season
  • This park is very beautiful and pretty quiet area to take the family. We took the canoe out with the kids and the water was great and the scenery is amazing. The red rock formations are fascinating and there is lovely park like groves of aspen near the shores of the coves. It was Saturday afternoon and there was some pretty loud music on the big boats parking in the cove but that is expected so we paddled out to a little spot where we were alone and could just enjoy the afternoon in peace. There are plenty of trails to walk and picnic areas to enjoy and there seems to be plenty of space which is pretty good for how accessible it is from Fort Collins. There is an $8 park entry and the park rangers were constantly doing rounds checking for valid passes so make sure yours is visible. The park lady at the ticket booth was very friendly and gave cliff bars for the kids which was pretty sweet. The trails apparently pretty good for mountain biking too and the hike up to Arthor’s Rock would be fun. I expect to be back again. The kids loved to water!
