Fort Collins

— 3 nights
Called vibrant, eclectic and authentic, Fort Collins tops “best of” lists year after year thanks to its myriad of cultural opportunities.
Visit Wild Basin Area and Chapel on the Rock for their historical value. Get in touch with nature at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space and Old Fall River Road. Explore Fort Collins' surroundings by going to Gateway Natural Area (in Bellvue) and Rocky Mountain National Park (Sheep Lakes, Many Parks Curve Overlook, &more). There's still lots to do: indulge your thirst for a good beer at New Belgium Brewing Company, admire the natural beauty at Annual Flower Trial Garden, contemplate the waterfront views at Cache La Poudre River, and explore by horseback at Cathy Fromme Prairie Natural Area.

To find where to stay, traveler tips, more things to do, and other tourist information, go to the Fort Collins itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Japan, the closest major aiport is Denver International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 36°C in July, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
